## Answers

### Answer by Hitesh Vohra

- The **crop factor**, format factor, or focal length multiplier of an image sensor format in digital photography is the ratio of the size of a camera's imaging area compared to a reference format; this term is most typically applied to digital cameras, with 35 mm film format as a reference. A digital sensor would be the imaging device in the case of digital cameras.
- When comparing the field of view and image quality of different cameras with the same lens, the crop factor is sometimes utilised. Because multiplying a lens focal length by the crop factor yields the focal length of a lens that would offer the same field of view if employed on the reference format, the crop factor is also known as the focal length multiplier ('FLM').
