- **Yes, many popular apps, such as [Gmail](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94793/why-am-i-unable-to-connect-my-new-android-phone-to-my-gmail-accounts) and Google Drive**, have built-in offline versions. If you're offline and editing a Google Doc on your Chromebook, it will save locally to the laptop. The next time your Chromebook is connected to the internet, it will sync with your online account.
- Chromebooks can be configured to run without internet access if necessary. Offline access should only be set up in circumstances where students are assigned to a single device. In a shared device environment, offline access is not a viable alternative. Chromebooks are meant to run on the internet.
