How are projector lumens measured?

## Answers

### Answer by Hitesh Vohra

- The brightness of a **projector is measured in lumens.** A minimum of 1500 lumens is required for home theatre projectors with minimal ambient light. A projector with a minimum of 2500 lumens is appropriate for classrooms, conference rooms, or rooms with windows.
- Calculate the lumens for each of your readings. The lux multiplied by the square footage multiplied by 0.09290304 equals lumens. You can manually calculate each or use an automated calculator , For example, a reading of 1150 lux on a 37.5 square foot screen is 4006.4436 lumens.
