## [motherboard](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/96929/describe-about-motherboard) components:

- **Mouse and keyboard** connectors are divided into two categories. The PS/2 connector is the first, while the USB connector is the second.
- The computer system is connected via the **USB connector.** The USB port is used to connect a variety of devices to a computer system, including a keyboard, mouse, camera, scanner, printer, and other devices. A USB port is primarily used to connect peripheral devices to computer motherboards.
- The **parallel port** was used to connect obsolete printers to computer systems in the past. Numerous wires are utilised in the parallel port to send or receive multiple bits of data in a single instance.
- The **central processing unit (CPU)** is the processor that oversees all computer functions. The central processing unit manages the overall flow of tasks and functions. The central processing unit of a computer system is referred to as the computer system's brain.
- The **RAM slots** are used to connect the computer system's RAM (memory). In a typical computer system, there are usually two RAM slots, although there may be four or more slots on the motherboard to expand the machine's memory.
- A 34-pin type ribbon cable connects the computer system to a floppy disc on the earlier motherboard chip. One end of this ribbon cable is directly attached to the computer system, while the other is connected to the motherboard.
