This seeks to protect the data and network's confidentiality and accessibility. Every company or organisation that deals with a lot of data has a set of measures in place to deal with a variety of cyber threats.
- Data that is stored on the network or in transit across, into, or out of it is protected by **technical security** mechanisms. It is necessary to protect data and systems from unauthorised personnel as well as malicious activity by staff.
- It is primarily concerned with safeguarding data stored in the network or data in transit via the network. This type has two functions. The first is protection against unauthorised users, and the second is protection against malicious activity.
