- **Phishing** assaults occur when a person sends a fake message that appears to come from a trusted source. [**Email**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95219/why-does-my-microsoft-outlook-says-not-connected-to-the-server-while-i-can-get-the-same-email-on-my-iphone) is the most used method of communication. The purpose is to steal sensitive information such as credit card and login information, or to infect the victim's computer with malware. Phishing is a frequent sort of cyberattack that everyone should be aware of in order to stay safe online.
- Phishing begins with a phoney email or other form of communication intended to entice a victim. The message is designed to appear as if it came from a known sender. If the victim is duped, he or she is persuaded to provide private information, which is usually done on a scam website. Malware is sometimes installed on the target's PC.
