- The [**network**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94985/how-do-i-change-a-networking-group-in-windows-10) connecting devices, hub and switch, both assist in the connection of numerous devices. The hub transmits the signal to the port at the physical layer. The information is routed through a switch and sent over the network.
- A networking device is referred to as a **hub.** It joins LAN segments and helps connect several devices to a single network. The physical layer of a hub is where it all happens, and it has a lot of ports. Any device that wants to connect to the internet can plug into one of these ports.
- A networking device is a **switch.** It links and routes data between various devices on a same network. The Switch operates on a data connection layer. The data packet is transmitted over the network using the packet switching technology.
