- The official motherboard definition is that it's a computer's main printed circuit board, which means it's the main piece of circuitry into which all of the other components plug to form a unified whole.
- The **motherboard** is the backbone of the [**computer**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/50024/my-computer-is-telling-me-my-startup-drive-is-nearly-full-how-to-i-make-room), connecting all of its components in one place and allowing them to communicate with one another. Without it, none of the computer's components, such as the CPU, GPU, or hard drive, would be able to communicate with one another. For a computer to function properly, the motherboard must be fully functional.
