- The **[Linux](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/96831/how-to-copy-a-file-in-linux) Loader (LILO)** is a programme that loads Linux into memory. It can boot operating systems from floppy discs as well as hard discs, and it is not limited to a single file system. Lilo is in charge of finding the kernel, identifying additional supporting applications, loading memory, and starting the kernel. '/etc/lilo.conf' is the location of the lilo configuration file. Lilo examines this configuration file, which instructs it where the bootloader should be installed.
- LILO (LInux LOader) is a boot loader for the Linux operating system (a short software that controls a dual boot). Most new computers come pre-installed with boot loaders for Microsoft Windows or Mac OS. A unique boot loader must be installed on a computer before it can be used with Linux.
