- While these cosmetic alterations are appealing, they aren't the most important consideration. The Windows underpinnings that aren't as evident can have a significantly bigger impact on your day-to-day work and overall business efficiency.
- Backward compatibility is one of the reasons why so many organisations use Windows. Microsoft makes a concerted effort to ensure that the great majority of applications runs smoothly on new OS versions.
- Having said that, there are always a few apps that aren't compatible with a new version. Whether you're using one of those apps, it doesn't matter if the bulk of them work perfectly; if you upgrade, you'll be in trouble.
