- In October 2021, Microsoft launched **[Windows](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/96669/which-features-of-windows-7-and-windows-8-are-not-used-in-windows-10) 11,** the most recent major release of its Windows NT operating system. It's a free update to Windows 10 (2015), and it's available for Windows 10 devices that meet the new Windows 11 system requirements.
- Windows 11 includes a redesigned Start menu, the replacement of its 'live tiles' with a separate 'Widgets' panel on the taskbar, the ability to create tiled sets of windows that can be minimised and restored from the taskbar as a group, and new gaming technologies inherited from Xbox Series X and Series S such as Auto HDR and DirectStorage on compatible hardware, as well as new gaming technologies inherited from Xbox Series X and Series S such as Auto HDR and DirectS Like its predecessor, Windows 10, Internet Explorer (IE) has been replaced as the default web browser by the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge, and Microsoft Teams has been incorporated into the Windows shell.
