- An **Eyedropper** is a tool that allows you to select a colour from anywhere in [**PowerPoint**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/96606/how-to-embed-a-chart-of-excel-to-powerpoint-presentation) or from the outside world and apply it to your presentation.
- Choose the object or text to which you wish to apply a new colour. (Press Ctrl and then click the shapes to choose multiple objects.)
- Select **Shape Fill** (if you're colouring a shape) or Text Fill (if you're colouring text) from the Format or Shape **Format tab.**
- The mouse pointer becomes an **eyedropper.** Image of a button
- A live preview of the colour you're pointing at appears as you move your pointer across the screen. To see the RGB (Red Green Blue) colour coordinates of a colour, hover or pause over it.
- Click the colour you want to match with the eyedropper, and it will be applied to the selected form or object right away.
- When numerous colours are clustered together, selecting the colour by pressing Enter or spacebar instead is a more accurate means of getting the exact colour you desire.
- **Press Esc to switch off the Eyedropper tool** without selecting a colour.
