- Microsoft [**Word**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95101/how-can-i-convert-a-pdf-to-word) is a **word processing programme** created by the company Microsoft. Multi-Tool Word for Xenix Systems was the name given to it when it was initially launched on October 25, 1983. Later versions were built for a variety of platforms, including IBM PCs running DOS (1983), Apple Macintoshes running Classic Mac OS (1985), AT&T UNIX PC (1985), Atari ST (1988), OS/2 (1989), Microsoft Windows (1989), SCO Unix (1990), and macOS (2001).
- Commercial versions of Word are available as a stand-alone software, as part of Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365 Premium, Windows RT, or the now-defunct Microsoft Works suite.
- Microsoft Word is a word processor that may be used to create both simple and sophisticated texts. You can download the application to your hard disc and also use the online version with Office 365.
