- Microsoft Word is sometimes known as Word or **MS Word.**
- Microsoft hired Charles Simonyi to create a word-processing programme in 1981. In 1983, the first version was released.
- A WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) display is one of the elements that has made MS Word useful: This design ensures that everything you see on screen looks the same when you print it or move it to a different format or programme.
