- Word allows you **to insert sound files into your document** if you're the sort who wants to make your documents more multimedia-friendly. This is accomplished in the following way:
- Set the insertion point to the location where you wish the sound to be played.
- Select **Object from the Insert menu.** The Object dialogue box appears in Word.
- Select the Create from File option.
- Use the dialogue box's controls to find a sound file that you want to add with your project.
- Click the OK button. In your document, an icon that looks like a speaker is added.
- By double-clicking on the speaker icon, you can listen to your sound file afterwards.
