- When you wish to add a caption to an image, [**Word's**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95129/how-do-you-convert-a-secured-pdf-to-word-on-windows-10) Insert Caption function does most of the heavy job for you. It's a little more complicated in other Office products, and it entails adding a text box and then grouping the text box and the picture. You'll also have to manually track and increase the numbers if you have numerous photographs in a series.
- Select the image to which you wish to add a caption.
- Select **References > Insert Caption** from the drop-down menu.
- Type your caption in the Caption box to utilise the default label (Figure).
