- A **chart is a tool in [Excel](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95125/how-do-i-copy-text-from-an-excel-file-to-a-pdf)**that allows you to visually explain data. Charts help your audience understand the significance of data and make comparisons and trends much easier to perceive.
- Excel spreadsheets can have a lot of data in them, and this data can be difficult to understand.
- Excel offers a number of chart types, each with its own set of benefits. To see some of the numerous types of charts available in Excel, use the arrows.\
- **Vertical bars** are used to depict data in column charts. They can function with a wide range of data, although they're most commonly employed for data comparison.
- **Line graphs** are excellent for displaying trends. Lines connect the data points, making it easier to determine if values are growing or dropping over time.
- Comparing proportions is simple with **pie charts.** Each value is represented as a slice of pie, making it simple to understand which values make up a percentage of the total.
- **Bar charts** are similar to column charts, except instead of vertical bars, they employ horizontal bars.
- **Area charts** are similar to line charts, but they have filled-in areas beneath the lines.
- **Surface charts** allow you to visualise data in a three-dimensional environment. They function well with large data sets since they allow you to observe a variety of data at once.
