- When you utilise a drop-down list to limit the entries users can make in a cell, data entry is faster and more accurate. When a cell is selected, the down-arrow of the drop-down list displays, and the user can click it to make a selection.
- **Make a drop-down menu.**
- Drop-down lists can help you make a worksheet more efficient. Someone who is using your worksheet clicks an arrow, then a list entry.
- Choose the cells in which you want the lists to appear.
- Select **DATA > Data Validation** from the [**ribbon**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/96529/what-is-the-use-of-comment-how-to-add-comments-to-a-cell-in-excel).
- **Set Allow** to List in the dialogue.
- Click on Source, type the text or numbers you want in your drop-down list (separated by commas for a comma-delimited list), and then **click OK.**
