- At the top of your [**Pinterest**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/96477/how-do-i-log-out-of-my-pinterest-account) profile, **click the plus sign (+).** To make your first pin, go to your profile page by clicking on your name or profile image in the top-right corner of Pinterest.
- From the dropdown menu, choose 'Create Pin.' Click the plus sign icon ('+') on your profile page, above the interest boards you selected when creating your Pinterest profile, and select **'Create Pin'** from the dropdown menu that displays,
- Add a destination link and an image file from your computer. If you're on a desktop computer, go to your Pinterest profile page and click 'Create Pin' to get to the pin-making page.
- Give your pin an attractive preview by clicking the **'Add your title'** preview text and giving it a title that best fits the content of your pin.
- Add a 500-character description for your pin beneath the title. Keep in mind that in users' Pinterest newsfeeds, only the first 50 characters of your pin description will appear beneath the image.
- Before you save your pin, you must first add it to a **'board.'**
