- A **Retweet is a Tweet** that has been re-posted. The Retweet function on [**Twitter**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/96398/how-do-you-increase-followers-on-twitter) allows you and others to rapidly share a Tweet with all of your followers. You can Retweet your own Tweets as well as those of others.
- To signify that they are re-posting someone else's work, people may type 'RT' at the start of a Tweet. This isn't a Twitter command or function, but it does indicate that they're citing someone else's Tweet.
- Retweets are identifiable by the Retweet icon and the name of the person who Retweeted the Tweet, which appear next to the author's name and username. Look for Retweeted by information in the Tweet if you see content from someone you don't follow in your timeline—the Retweeter should be someone you follow.
