# How would you find friends and add them as contacts in Skype?

- Use the search field to look for someone you know by **entering their name**, Skype name, or email address, and then clicking on their name to learn more.
- To send a contact request, click **Add to [Contacts](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/50746/how-to-setup-your-contacts-on-your-iphone-7)** once you've found the person you're looking for.
- You add contacts to your [**Skype**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94352/how-does-skype-work-technically) account via contact requests, and they add you to theirs. You can accept, deny, or block a request when you receive one.
- Select Contacts from the Settings menu, then click the option to Automatically add friends.
- Select Address books to manage.
- There will be a dialogue window that appears. You can then choose a service and input your user name and password.
- After you've linked your accounts, any contacts from that service who also use Skype will be added to your Skype contacts list.
