- On **both the mobile and desktop devices**, you can initiate call recording at any time throughout a [**Skype**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94352/how-does-skype-work-technically) session.
- On the desktop, click **more The options button** at the bottom of the screen, then pick Start recording to begin call recording.
- On your PC, start recording a call.
- Touch more The options button on your phone, then **tap Start recording** to start recording calls.
- A banner shows in your Skype screen on both desktop and mobile, letting everyone know you've started recording the call.
- The recording is finished after the call and then uploaded to your [chat](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/100553/why-golgappa-and-aloo-chat-is-very-famous-in-india), where it will be available for **30 days.** During the 30 minutes, you and everyone else on the call can save the tape locally or share it with your contacts.
