It also has no affiliations to other social media platforms (for example, both Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp are owned by Facebook), which may appeal to some users.
- Telegram's main features are similar to those of most other messaging apps: you can send messages to other Telegram users, start group discussions, call contacts, make video calls, and exchange files and stickers. It does, however, have a few unique features that set it apart from other chat programmes.
