- **Facebook** recently announced the addition of the 'Vanishing messages' function to its Messenger platform.
- WhatsApp was the first to provide a comparable function of disappearing messages. The messages would vanish in the new mode after the recipient read them in their chat and closed the window. Both the sender and the receiver must turn on the functionality.
- WhatsApp's Disappearing Messages function now has more possibilities. Late last year, the **Snapchat**-inspired functionality appeared, allowing users to have texts from particular conversations disappear after seven days.
