## Steps to Fix the Issue:

- **Repairing the File -**Go to the [**Microsoft**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/96190/how-do-you-fix-this-error-microsoft-word-experienced-an-error-while-trying-to-open-the-file) Office Button and select Open from the drop-down menu. When a dialogue box appears, select your Word document. Select the arrow by first clicking the Open button, then clicking Open and Repair. After that, verify that the document has been repaired.
- Or go to the **Control Panel > Programs & Features.**
- In the list of installed applications, select Microsoft Office.
- Click 'Change' at the top of the page, then 'Repair' in the subsequent box.
- Select the online repair option.
