> **Mission Innovation (MI) is a global project led by 22 countries and the European Commission that aims to catalyze investment in clean alternative energy, development, and implementation to make it cheaper, appealing, and available to everyone.**

**Mission Innovation** is a global effort to accelerate formal and informal green power technologies to combat climate change, make renewable energy more accessible to customers and develop green employment and business possibilities. On November 30, 2015, **President Obama of the United States** launched Mission Innovation at COP21 on the leadership of the states parties. Bill Gates established **Breakthrough Energy** at the same time. **President Hollande of France and Prime Minister Modi of India** were also present at the event. \

All 20 launch partner countries account for 75% of global CO2 emissions from electricity and more than 80% of global renewable energy R&D spending. Scientists, academics, and government officials who advocated for a Global Apollo Program earlier in 2015 suggested that the organization set a concrete goal of making renewable power cheaper and more efficient than coal by 2025, preferable.
