- The bogus **'Microsoft Security Alert'** problem messages are a social engineering attack that causes your browser to go full screen and display persistent pop-up warnings, thus locking it. These fake error messages are intended to get you to phone a designated technical help hotline. If you contact these con artists, they may provide fictitious answers to your 'issues' and demand payment in the form of a one-time fee or a membership to a fictitious support service.
- Remove harmful apps from Windows.
- Remove 'Microsoft Security Alert' adware with Malwarebytes.
- Scan for malware and undesirable apps with HitmanPro.
- Use Zemana AntiMalware Free to double-check for harmful programmes.
