> **The Indian Army has introduced a modern texting app called 'ASIGMA' (Army Secure IndiGeneous Messaging Application). It is a next-generation web-based application created fully in-house by a team of Army Signal Corps officers.**

The new program is being put on the **Army's** corporate network to supplant the **Army Wide Area Network (AWAN)** texting application, which has been in use for the past 15 years, according to the Army. \
