The **International Cricket Council's Under-19 Cricket World Cup** is an **international** cricket competition for national under-19 teams that is organized by the **International Cricket Council.** It was first held in 1988 as the **Youth World Cup** and was not held again until 1998. Since then, the World Cup has been staged as a biennial tournament, organized by the **International Cricket Council (ICC)**. The tournament's original edition featured just eight teams, but each following edition has included sixteen teams. India has won the **World Cup five times, Australia three times, Pakistan twice, and Bangladesh, England, South Africa, and the West Indies one apiece.** Other teams that have advanced to the event finals include **New Zealand and Sri Lanka**. After beating England, India is the current champion.
