**These are reasons that safari stopped working:**

1. There are too many tabs open.
2. There is an excessive amount of cache, downloads, and history logs that haven't been cleaned in a long time.
3. Safari is crashing or freezing due to an extension, plugin, or webpage you're visiting.
4. Safari has become obsolete.
5. An older version of macOS is available.

Many problems can be avoided by updating your software on a regular basis. So, if you're having trouble with Safari, it's possible that you neglected to upgrade it to a newer version. Select About Safari from the Safari menu. Your current Safari version will be displayed in the pop-up window. Because Safari upgrades occur with new macOS releases, it's recommended to **double-check that your Mac is up to date.**

1. **Select Apple** from the drop-down option.
