The [**BrahMos**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BrahMos) is a medium-range supersonic ramjet [cruise missile](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/33762/which-indian-organization-has-developed-sub-sonic-cruise-missile-nirbhay-which-is-successfully-test-fired-recently) that may be deployed from **submarines, ships, airplanes, or land**. It is notable for being one of the world's fastest **supersonic cruise missiles**. BrahMos Aerospace is a joint venture involving NPO Mashinostroyeniya of the **Russian Federation** as well as the **Defence Research and Development Organization of India (DRDO)**. It is based on **Russian** cruise missile technologies such as the P-800 Oniks and other comparable sea-skimming Russian cruise missiles. The name **BrahMos** is a combination of two [**rivers**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/93562/is-there-any-rivers-learning-options-available-at-kidszone), the **Brahmaputra in India and the Moskva in Russia.**
