[**Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harnaaz_Sandhu), Miss Universe 2021, is an **Indian model, actor, and beauty pageant winner.** Sandhu was earlier awarded **Miss Diva Universe 2021** as well as is **India's 3rd Miss Universe winner.** Sandhu was also awarded **Femina Miss India Punjab in 2019** and competed in the **Femina Miss [India](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95376/what-is-the-name-of-bhutan-s-highest-civilian-award-conferred-to-the-prime-minister-of-india) 2019 semifinals.** \

## Early childhood and education

Sandhu was raised to Pritampal Singh Sandhu as well as Rabinder Kaur Sandhu in the hamlet of Kohali in the Gurdaspur region of Punjab, near the town of Batala. Her father works as a real estate agent, while her mom is a doctor. Harnoor, her elder brother, is also present. Sandhu grew up in a **Jat [Sikh](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/45357/who-is-the-7th-sikh-guru) household**. Sandhu's family relocated to England in 2006, before coming to India 2 years later and settling in Chandigarh, where he was brought up. In Chandigarh, she joined **Shivalik Public School** and the **Post Graduate Government College** **for Girls**. Sandhu was completing a master's degree in government administration before winning Miss Universe. Sandhu is proficient in **Hindi and English,** in contrast to her native **[Punjabi](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/45342/which-punjabi-writer-wrote-chitta-lahu).**
