**Excessive login attempts result in too many attempts (for security purposes). The temporary lockout takes roughly 24 hours to clear, following which you can log in regularly again.**

As a result, knowing the cause for the limitation is critical to regaining access to your account. This could be a temporary lock caused by questionable user behavior, but it's simple to fix. Or, for a more serious purpose, spam punishment.
