**Looking for 'online' text at the top of the app is one of the easiest ways** to tell if you've joined a [**Telegram**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95397/how-do-i-find-a-korean-friend-on-telegram) [channel](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/105065/how-to-use-the-commodity-channel-index) or group. You've joined a group if you can see the number of online participants at any moment. To identify a Telegram channel, check for the eye icon next to the messages.

- Click the magnifying glass-shaped search icon in the top right corner of the app.
- Use a keyword to find what you're looking for, and a list of channels with the bullhorn emblem next to them will emerge.
- **Select the desired channel by tapping on it.**
