**[Outlook](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95237/what-is-the-outlook-error-code-0x800ccc7d) Data File (Compact)** You could notice that the PST file size isn't lowered when you delete things from your mailbox in Outlook. Because the erased data is replaced with white space, this is the case. To get rid of the white space, compress the PST file. \
**Follow these procedures to compress your Outlook Data File:** \

1. **Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings in Outlook.**
2. **Click Data Files i**n the Account Settings window that appears.
3. Click the Settings button after selecting the Outlook Data File you want to compress.
4. Click the Compact button in the Outlook Data File window that appears. Outlook will now condense the file for you.
