**The [Outlook](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95234/how-do-i-resolve-an-outlook-0x800ccc0e-error) Profile Folder's content can become corrupted,** resulting in the error 'Outlook account settings out of date.' This problem can be resolved by cleaning up the profile folder. Follow the steps below to get started: \

1. **Right-click the Windows icon** on your taskbar's far left and **select 'File Explorer.**' You may also open File Explorer by **pressing Win+E** on your keyboard.
2. **Paste 'percent APPDATA** percent MicrosoftProtect' into the top address bar and hit Enter.
3. This will open the Microsoft Outlook profile folder for you.
4. Copy and paste your profile folder to a new location, such as your Desktop or Documents folder, to create a backup.
5. **Delete the Protect folder** once the backup has been completed.
6. **Restart** your machine and then reopen Outlook.
