Follow these steps:

- To open the Outlook Options window, launch [**Outlook**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95209/how-do-i-fix-an-outlook-update-error), **pick 'File,'** then 'Options' from the menu.
- To access advanced settings, **click 'Advanced'** in the left pane, then 'Send/Receive' in the Send and Receive section to enter the Send/Receive Groups window.
- To enter the '**Send/Receive Settings -** All Accounts' window, choose the 'All Accounts' group from the Group Name list and then click the 'Edit' button.
- **To stop Outlook from sending emails, uncheck the 'Send mail items' box** in the Account Options section and then click 'OK.'
- To close all windows and return to the main Outlook window, **click 'Close' and then 'OK.'**
