**Follow these steps** to enable or disable the microphone that is currently set as the default: \

1. Open the **Settings menu.**
2. Select System.
3. Select Sound from the drop-down menu.
4. Click the Device properties option under the 'Input' section.
5. **Select Disable** from the drop-down menu. (Alternatively, to turn on the gadget, press the Enable button.)
6. [**Windows 10**](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95031/how-do-i-fix-critical-errors-on-windows-10) and apps will no longer have access to the microphone once you've completed the procedures.
