- The rounded corners of the **[iPhone](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95084/why-can-t-i-open-pdf-files-on-my-iphone) 12 Pro Max** display follow a gorgeous curved design and are contained within a normal rectangle. The screen is 6.68 inches diagonally when measured in a typical rectangular shape (actual viewable area is less).
- Apple claims that only the design option will make the back and front of the iPhone X twice as durable as previous versions. The screen on all four [iPhone 12](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/96885/why-is-the-iphone-12-vs-google-pixel-5-2020-s-big-battle) models (iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Max) is protected by a ceramic shield, while the back is made of the same type of glass.
- Even with the Ceramic Shield screen, the iPhone 12 Pro Max needs a screen protector to preserve its large, beautiful display. Yes, it's claimed to be tougher than glass, but that's only in terms of shatter resistance. A screen protector is essential if you don't like scratched displays and want extra drop protection.
