> **Right to Information is an Act of Parliament that sets out some rules and procedures for the citizens of India. The act was previously working under the name of the act Freedom of Information Act 2002.**

## Overview

The right of information, in our Indian constitution, was given earlier in **[articles 19](https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/what-is-article-19-in-the-constitution-of-india/articleshow/73184095.cms)** and 21 which talks about the right to express. We all know that if we are to express something in front of anyone, we need some information related to that topic or subject. Hence before we have the right to expression and speech we must have the right to know anything from the regulatory body which will have the interest of people. \

## Right to Information Act 2005

The various national movement has been led out on the roads of India and many national leaders fought against the regulatory body to know any information related to the authority. One of the examples of such a movement is the **Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan (MKSS)** which works like the real step in Rajasthan and this movement has resulted in the formation of the Right to Information act of 2000 in Rajasthan. **Know More: [Right to INformation](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94636/what-is-rti-2005)**
