1. Examine the i**Phone's volume** The first step is to make sure the **ringer leve**l on your phone isn't too low. The first step is to make sure the iPhone **screen isn't locked**, then locate the **volume buttons o**n the side and continually **press (or hold) the up button** until the volume controls appear on the screen and go up. \
2**. Examine your iPhone's sound settings** The next step is to **double-check** the sound settings. To do so, go to Sound & Haptics in the options menu (or Sounds depending on the model). Then, below 'Ringers and Alerts,' move the slider to the top (maximum volume). \
3**. Verify that your iPhone is transferring audio to headphones or another device.** \
An iPhone may broadcast sound to another device, such as headphones, which is a typical occurrence. Looking at the Bluetooth options and, if necessary, turning Bluetooth off is the best approach to figure this out. Look in the Bluetooth settings to check if anything indicates 'connected.' You may also turn Bluetooth off completely here to double-check. \
4. **Verify that your iPhone is delivering sound via AirPlay.** Make sure your sound isn't being played over an AirPlay device like an Apple TV or a HomePod. To do so, first, open the control center. **Swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen** on iPhone models after iPhone 8. Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen on iPhone 8 or prior models. Check the top right corner of the control center for any media (music or movies) playing with the AirPlay icon. You may deselect it and re-select 'iPhone' by pressing this symbol. \
**5. Start your iPhone again.** If none of these methods work, **restart your iPhone.** iPhone X (iPhone X)
