Your iPhone's ringer mechanism may occasionally misbehave or become inconsistent due to **random malfunctions**. Toggling the Ringer switch off for a few seconds and then on again is the simplest option. So you'll be moving your iPhone X from ring mode to mute/silent mode, then back to ring mode. Here's how you do it:

Follow these instructions if you want to test this workaround:

1. **Toggle the Ringer switch to Silent mode** from the top left edge of your handset. The sound is turned off, and the switch is in the red/orange position. When the quiet mode is enabled and the phone is muted, a notification flashes briefly on the screen.
2. **Switch your iPhone back t**o ring mode after a few seconds by flipping the switch again.

If the switch looks to be stuck, remove any cases that might be obstructing it. After that, **reboot your iPhone** and see if you can hear sounds from it.

Aso Make sure your **volume isn't too low. T**h**e volume level on your iPhone** may be determined by pressing the **Volume Up or Volume Down button** on the side.
