## Using a local backup, restore your data:

Want to see the local Backup, Important thing is to transfer data computer using a cellphone too, **file explorer**, or **SD Card**. Follow Simple steps to backup restore: \

- **Manager application** installation.
- Look at local storage or **sd card** > **[WhatsApp](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94560/how-do-i-recover-a-whatsapp-chat-without-a-backup)** > **Databases** in the file management app if your data is not on an **SD card**, it may display as '**internal storage**' or '**primary storage**.'\
- Copy recent backup copy file to the **Databases folder** on your new device's local storage.
- After you've installed and opened **[WhatsApp](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94560/how-do-i-recover-a-whatsapp-chat-without-a-backup)**, you'll need to authenticate your phone number.
- To restore your chats and media from a **local backup**, tap **[RESTORE](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94560/how-do-i-recover-a-whatsapp-chat-without-a-backup)** when prompted.\ \

Restoring your chats, make sure they're backed up:

- Open **[WhatsApp](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94560/how-do-i-recover-a-whatsapp-chat-without-a-backup)** and go to More **options** > **Settings** > **Chats** > **Backup Chat**.
- Select the **Google Account** where you want your communications to be saved. On your device, you can also make a local backup.
- To return to the previous screen, press **BACKUP**.
- After you've saved the backup, you can uninstall **[WhatsApp](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94560/how-do-i-recover-a-whatsapp-chat-without-a-backup)** from your old Android device and reinstall it on your new one.

You may enable the automatic backup function for your chats and set the frequency to daily, weekly, or monthly to save a copy of your chat history on Google Drive. To restore a **[Google Drive](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94560/how-do-i-recover-a-whatsapp-chat-without-a-backup)** backup properly, you must use the same phone number and Google Account that you used to create the backup.
