- If you don't keep your WhatsApp up to date, you can be missing out on some important functions. As a result, it's a great way to keep Whatsaap up to date. The majority of phones automatically updated WhatsApp in the background, but some people disable automatic app updates.
- Select **'Apps' from the 'Settings' menu.** From the list of apps, choose '**[Google Play Store](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94562/can-i-download-whatsapp-without-google-play)'** and then 'Storage.' **'Clear Cache'** is the first option, followed by 'Clear Data.' Reopen the app after clearing the cache and data to attempt upgrading WhatsApp.
- On your Android's home screen, tap the Google Play Store icon.
- The three horizontally stacked lines must be tapped.
- 'My applications & games' will appear.
- Tap **'Update**' next to WhatsApp to get the most recent version.
