**[The Constitutional Reform Act (2005)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitutional_Reform_Act_2005)** performed the **main role** in this Appointment. This was the act with the effect of which the role of **President of the Queen Bench Division** was separated and the new appointment was grabbed by **Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers.**\

This is an **act of the Parliament** of the **[United Kingdom](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/38272/who-became-the-new-prime-minister-of-united-kingdom-uk)**, it had given the right to the **Supreme Court of the United Kingdome** to confiscate the power of the previous parliament of **United Kingdome**, it had given the Right to the **Supreme Court of the United Kingdome** to **confiscate the Powers and Jurisdiction of the Lords of Law as well as the Privy council judicial Committee.** This change in the system eliminated the Functions of the **Speaker of the House of Lords.** Also with this Reform, **the Judiciary of England and Wales’s Speaker’ functions have deteriorated**. The Bill subjecting to the reform’s aim was presented in the House of Lords on **24 February 2004**, in which many objectionable issues were raised for the reforms. **Some of them are as follows-** \
1- **Abolition of Lord Chancellor’s office** which was also known to be the **Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain**. 2- The second concern was to **deliver the Law Lords of the House of Lords** to a **new court** “Supreme Court of the United Kingdome” that should be set up by the government. 3- Also many changes have been raised in the Bill like the **changes in the Judicial Committee,** changes to the position of Lord Chief Justice, and including some **changes in the Privy Council of the Judicial Committee.** \
**On 21 March 2005,** the Bill was approved by both the Houses and got sealed of **[Royal Assent](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_assent)** on **24 March.** \
