And this is the first Indian geostationary communications satellite of the heavier weight. **This was based on the new 1-6k Bas** This was based on the **new 1-6k Bas**. This carries the **40** transponders in the Ku –Band, ka –Band frequencies. These frequencies are capable of providing up to **16 Gbit/s.**

The launch date of this satellite is an interesting fact in itself. Initially, it was planned to be launched in **May 2018,** but it was launched **on 4 December 2018,** this was changed by the [ISRO](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94164/who-established-the-indian-national-committee-for-space-research-incospar) due to some technical issue.

The cost that was born by the Indian government was 579 crores. And in the production of it. India spent nearly 810.94 crores. And the payload consists of high-power Ku band, ka band transporters. Built at a space application center in Ahmedabad.

The rocket that was used for this mission was Ariana 5UA216 and the launch site is Guinea Space center. The longitude for this launch is 78 degrees in the east it has the power of 13.6 kilowatts.

This is the forerunner in the series of advanced communication satellites with multi-spot beam antenna coverage over India Mainland and Islands. And it is sure that it will provide a platform for India to demonstrate new generation applications.
