Veteran actor Rajinikanth has received the 51st Dadasaheb [Phalke Award](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/38533/who-will-be-conferred-with-the-47th-dadasaheb-phalke-award-for-the-year-2015) on May, 3rd 2021, the greatest award of Indian cinema, the Union minister Prakash Javadekar declared on Twitter.

'**Happy to announce #Dadasaheb Phalke award for 2019 to one of the greatest actors in the history of Indian cinema Rajnikant Ji. His contribution as actor, producer, and screenwriter has been iconic,**' Mr. Javadekar tweeted. \

The prestigious honor is called after the father of Indian theater, Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, & was founded in 1969. The prize is granted by the administration for its excellent tribute to the advancement and development of Indian Cinema. \
The honor is encompassed of a Golden Lotus & a cash prize of ₹10 lakhs. \
'**India each year delivers Dada Saheb Phalke honor to a television character. This year the nomination has occurred to be made by a jury containing Asha Bhonsle, Mohanlal, Biswajit Chatterjee, Shankar Mahadevan, & Subhash Ghai,**' Javadekar was referred to as saying by Press Trust of India. \
'**They unanimously proposed that superstar Rajinikanth be awarded Dada Saheb Phalke honor and we approved it,**' the Union minister stated. \
