But at the time of its creation, there were only 8 schedules in the original constitution of 395 articles which were divided into 22 parts. The Constitution of India is the highest legislation of India which was passed by the Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949 and came into effect from 26 January 1950. This day (26 November) has been declared as the Constitution Day of India while 26 January is celebrated as Republic Day in India. The Constitution of India is the longest written constitution of any republican country in the world. \ As per Article 79 of the Constitution of India, the Council of the Central Parliament consists of the President and two Houses known as the Rajya Sabha, the Council of States and the House of the People, Lok Sabha. Section 74 (1) of the Constitution provides that there will be a form to assist and advise the President, who will be the head of the Prime Minister, the President shall perform his functions as per the advice of this Council of Ministers.
