The Lokpal Act 2013, an anti corruption Act of Indian Parliament, looks into complaints against public servants who are defined under the Lokpal Act 2013. **Appointment** On 17 March 2019, retired Supreme Court judge Pinaki Chandra Ghose was appointed as the first Lokpal of India by a committee consisting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Loksabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan. **Composition** Its office comprises of a chairman and upto 8 members. Lokpal's chairman can be current or former judge of the Supreme Court or Chief justice of high courts.
