The Association also showed that the **"average level of global peacefulness improved for the first time in the last five years"**. Despite all these improvements, the world remains considerably less peaceful now than it was a decade ago, with having the average level of peacefulness declined by nearly four percent since 2008. \ Overall, **86 countries have improved their score while 76 deteriorated**, as per the 2019 report of Global Peace Index.
